Kanpur Man Files Complaint Against Colleague for Housing Fraud
Kanpur Man Alleges Housing Scam by Colleague

A resident of Motinagar, Kanpur, Amit Gautam, has lodged a formal complaint against his colleague, alleging fraud involving the arrangement of a house in a government colony. The accused, Satyam Tiwari, a resident of Tiwaripur Jajmau, was previously employed in the same office as the complainant.

Allegations of Deception

According to the complaint, in December 2023, Satyam Tiwari enticed Amit Gautam by claiming he could secure a government colony house in the Sajari area through the Alaknanda Yojana. Satyam allegedly introduced Gautam to his associate, Naushad Ali, who resides in Bakarganj. The duo purportedly collected Rs 45,000 from Gautam and provided forged colony papers as proof.

Subsequently, they demanded another Rs 45,000 in the name of Gautam's brother-in-law, Pramod, and again handed over fake documents under the pretext of facilitating possession. Between May 2024 and March 2025, the accused allegedly took a total of Rs 1.90 lakh from the complainant, but no colony house was ever provided.
