A shocking incident of brutal violence unfolded in the Jalaun area of Kanpur, where a 27-year-old man lost his life after being allegedly beaten by his own friends during a liquor party. The tragic event occurred late on Tuesday night, turning a night of revelry into a scene of horror.

The Fatal Night and Drunken Dispute

The deceased has been identified as Mahendra, also known as Baba, a resident of Baghaura locality. According to police reports, Mahendra had left his home on Tuesday night in the company of his friends, named as Altaf, Raja, and Jeeshan, to attend a party involving alcohol. Locals reported that the group was seen consuming liquor in an open field situated in front of a cremation ground along the Kalpi-Churkhi bypass around 11 pm.

The situation took a violent turn around midnight. What began as a mere argument among the inebriated friends quickly escalated into a full-blown physical clash. The altercation, fueled by alcohol, soon spiraled out of control.

Brutal Assault with Bricks

Police officials detailed the gruesome sequence of events. During the fight, Jeeshan is alleged to have first struck Mahendra on the head with a brick. This was not the end of the assault. Following Jeeshan's attack, the other two friends, Altaf and Raja, also reportedly joined in, repeatedly hitting Mahendra with bricks. The sustained and brutal attack led to Mahendra's death on the spot.

When Mahendra did not return home, his worried family members initiated a search. Their worst fears were confirmed when they discovered his body lying in the field, in a pool of blood. The scene was reported to the police by Mahendra's brother, Deepak.

Police Action and Investigation

A police team, led by Circle Officer Archana Singh and station in-charge Harishankar Chand, promptly reached the location. The body was sent for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death. Acting on the formal complaint filed by Deepak, the police registered a murder case.

Circle Officer Archana Singh confirmed that two of the accused have already been taken into custody. She stated that the investigation is actively progressing to uncover all details of the crime. "The remaining accused will be arrested soon," CO Singh added, assuring that the police are working to ensure all involved face justice.
