Kanpur Grapples with Dual Fire Emergencies on Friday
The city of Kanpur faced a challenging day on Friday as two significant fire incidents broke out in different areas, putting emergency services to the test. Fortunately, swift action by fire personnel ensured both blazes were brought under control without any loss of life.
Chamanganj Residential Building Fire
In the Chamanganj police station area, a fire erupted in a grocery shop located within a four-storey building near the Rupam Talkies intersection. The building, which houses approximately fifteen families, quickly became the scene of a major rescue operation.
Chief Fire Officer Deepak Sharma reported that the fire control room received the alert promptly. In response, three fire brigade vehicles were dispatched from Colonelganj and Latouche Road stations to tackle the emergency.
Firefighters demonstrated remarkable efficiency by rescuing 24 residents from the building and evacuating adjacent houses as a precautionary measure. The operation to douse the flames took around 30 minutes, highlighting the coordinated efforts of the emergency teams.
Dada Nagar Factory Fire Incident
Simultaneously, another fire broke out in the Dada Nagar area, specifically at the Chandra Microplast factory located at 178-B High Rise Premium. This incident occurred in the early hours of Friday morning, with the mini control room receiving information at approximately 3:06 am.
A fire brigade from Fazalganj was immediately deployed to the site. Initial investigations revealed that the fire originated from an electrical board and wiring within the factory premises.
Fire personnel managed to bring this blaze under control in 25 minutes, preventing potential escalation and further damage to the industrial property.
