Karnataka Suspends 3 Cops Arrested for Bribery in Rajasthan

The Karnataka government has suspended three police officers who were arrested in Rajasthan for allegedly accepting a bribe. The officers, identified as sub-inspector Anita K and head constables Yatish Kumar and Ulvappa, were posted at the HAL police station in Bengaluru. They were taken into custody by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Rajasthan on June 13, 2026, for demanding and accepting a bribe from a suspect in a case.

Details of the Incident

According to ACB officials, the three officers had traveled to Rajasthan to investigate a case. During the course of their investigation, they allegedly demanded a bribe from a suspect to show leniency. The suspect reported the matter to the ACB, which set up a trap and caught the officers red-handed while accepting the bribe amount.

Action Taken by Karnataka Police

Following the arrest, the Karnataka Police Department swiftly initiated disciplinary action. On June 15, 2026, the state government issued an order placing the three officers under suspension pending a detailed inquiry. The suspension order stated that the officers had brought disrepute to the police force and that strict action would be taken based on the findings of the investigation.
