Prayagraj: A 30-year-old man, identified as Arjun Pasi, a resident of Imligav, was arrested by Kaushambi police on Thursday on charges of killing a woman on May 29. The body of the woman, identified as Maneeta Devi, was found inside a garden on the night of May 29 under the limits of Sarayakil police station.
Details of the Incident
According to police officials, the accused was returning home after collecting wood on his bicycle when the incident occurred. He allegedly strangled the woman to death after being provoked by her abusive nature. During interrogation, Pasi admitted to the crime, stating that he killed the woman because she used foul language against him.

The police launched an investigation following the discovery of the body and quickly zeroed in on Pasi as the prime suspect. Evidence gathered at the scene and subsequent questioning led to his arrest. The accused has been booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and is currently in police custody pending further legal proceedings.
