Mayadhar succumbed to his injuries on the spot due to profuse bleeding, while the assailants fled before local residents could intervene.

Later that night, the victim's brother, Dayanidhi Behera, filed a formal complaint at the Nayakot police station, leading to the prompt arrest of the three accused.
