Kerala Bar Brawl Turns Deadly: Man Killed in Alappuzha, Four Arrested

The victim, identified as Nidhin Kunjumon, a resident of Kumbalangi in Ernakulam, was sitting on a motorcycle outside the bar late on Thursday night, around 11:30 PM. According to police reports, an initial altercation had erupted inside the bar between Kunjumon and one of the gang members. This confrontation escalated dramatically when the group, allegedly with the intent to kill, launched a vicious attack on him outside the establishment.
The assault was particularly brutal, with one of the accused slapping Kunjumon, while the others joined in, thrashing and kicking him repeatedly. The sustained violence caused the victim to collapse unconscious on the road. Alert locals who witnessed the horrifying scene immediately notified the authorities.

Responding promptly, the police rushed Kunjumon to a nearby private hospital. Despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his severe injuries. In a significant development, the Aroor police arrested four individuals on Friday in connection with the murder. The arrested suspects are Anil Joseph (22), Shinu Shaji (29), Jithumon V R (27), and Jibin M B (25).
The police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) under Sections 103(1) for murder and 3(5) for common intention under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Following a mandatory autopsy, the victim's body was handed over to his grieving family. The accused are set to be produced before a magistrate court as the investigation continues to unfold.
