Two businessmen from Kerala were killed in a road accident on the Mysore Expressway near Ramanagara in the early hours of Tuesday. The incident occurred around 3:30 AM when their SUV lost control and crashed into a divider.
Cause of the Accident
Preliminary investigations by the Ramanagara police indicate that overspeeding was the primary cause of the mishap. The driver, one of the victims, is believed to have lost control of the vehicle at high speed. Additionally, driver fatigue is suspected to have played a role, as the accident took place during the wee hours when alertness typically decreases.
Victims Identified
The deceased have been identified as Shaji P. and Rajesh K., both residents of Thrissur district in Kerala. They were returning from a business trip in Bengaluru when the accident occurred. Their bodies have been shifted to a nearby hospital for postmortem.
Police have registered a case and are investigating further. The stretch of the Mysore Expressway has seen several accidents in the past, prompting calls for better safety measures.
