KGMU PRO Trapped in Lift for Over an Hour

A public relations officer (PRO) at King George's Medical University (KGMU) in Lucknow has lodged a complaint with the administration after he and his wife were trapped inside a lift at the TG Hostel nursing building for over an hour on Monday.

Incident Details

Rajesh Kumar Singh, the PRO, reported that the lift stopped midway due to a technical fault while he and his wife Sheela Singh were using it. The lift's fan and ventilation system ceased to function, leading to suffocation. They remained trapped for more than an hour before a technician managed to open the lift and rescue them.

Recurring Issues

Singh highlighted that residents and staff frequently encounter such problems because of recurring faults in the lift. He noted that previous complaints had not resulted in any corrective action. He urged the administration to repair the lift immediately and ensure regular maintenance to prevent future incidents.
