Khanna Police Apprehend Two Notorious Snatchers, Seize Stolen Motorcycles and Criminal Tools
In a significant breakthrough, the Khanna police have successfully arrested two individuals involved in a series of thefts and snatchings, recovering stolen motorcycles and various tools used in their criminal operations. The arrested suspects have been identified as Vishal Singh and Shamshad Mohammad, both residents of Ikolaha village in Khanna.
Police Action Based on Secret Information
According to SHO Sadar inspector Sandeep Kumar, the arrests were made following a tip-off received during routine checking. On April 2, a police team led by sub-inspector Avtar Singh was stationed at Bija Chowk when they obtained secret information about the accused, who had been engaged in thefts and robberies over an extended period.
Acting swiftly on this intelligence, the police established a checkpoint and managed to apprehend the suspects. Subsequent interrogation led to the recovery of two stolen motorcycles and specialized tools used for theft.
Confession and Ongoing Manhunt
During questioning, the accused reportedly confessed to snatching gold earrings from an elderly woman in collaboration with their accomplice, Arshdeep Singh. Police officials confirmed that Arshdeep is currently evading arrest, and active efforts are underway to locate and apprehend him.
Widespread Criminal Activities Uncovered
The investigation has revealed that the arrested duo were involved in more than a dozen incidents of theft and snatching across Khanna district, including areas such as:
- Khanna
- Doraha
- Samrala
Their criminal network extended beyond Khanna, with activities reported in other districts including:
- Mohali
- Chandigarh
- Fatehgarh Sahib
Details of Recovered Vehicles
The police recovered two motorcycles from the suspects:
- A black Pulsar motorcycle without a registration number, stolen from Chandigarh
- A Hero Deluxe motorcycle stolen from Mandi Gobindgarh
Further investigation is currently in progress to track down the absconding accomplice and uncover additional details about their criminal operations.
