Dubai Flights Grounded Until Late March
According to the latest advisory from KLM, all flights to and from Dubai have been cancelled until March 28. This decision was made in response to persistent unrest in the Middle East, with the airline emphasizing that passenger and crew safety is its top priority. Affected travelers will be directly notified by KLM and provided with flexible options to rebook their tickets free of charge or request a full refund through the airline's 'My Trip' service. KLM is maintaining close contact with authorities and will issue updates as soon as more information becomes available regarding the resumption of normal services.
Suspensions Extended for Riyadh and Dammam Routes
In addition to the Dubai cancellations, KLM has extended the suspension of flights to Riyadh and Dammam. Initially, services to these two Saudi cities were cancelled until March 14, but the airline has now confirmed that flights will remain suspended through March 28. This extension is a direct response to ongoing geopolitical developments in the region. Similar to the Dubai situation, affected passengers will be informed and offered flexible rebooking or refund alternatives to accommodate their travel plans.

In a separate update issued on March 12, KLM reported that one of its Boeing 787 aircraft, which had been stationed at Dubai Airport since February 28, has departed for the Netherlands. While KLM would have preferred to transport passengers on this flight, it concluded that doing so was not responsible under the current circumstances, highlighting its commitment to safety over convenience.

KLM remains available to assist with repatriation efforts for stranded travelers, coordinating these operations with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands.
