A shocking incident of violence has rocked the Kolhapur district, where a 44-year-old gym trainer was brutally hacked to death by unknown assailants on Wednesday night. The victim, identified as Sandip Patil, was a resident of Jambhali village, located near Jaysingpur town in the Kolhapur region. According to police reports, the attack occurred while Patil was returning home after locking up his gym for the day.
Details of the Fatal Attack
The police stated that the attackers were hiding and waiting for Patil along the Jambhali-Jaysingpur road. As he passed by, they stopped him and launched a vicious assault using metal rods and blunt objects. The attack was so severe that Patil succumbed to his injuries on the spot. Doctors confirmed that he was brought dead to the hospital, with deep injuries to his head being the cause of death.
Police Investigation and Key Evidence
Amol Thakur, the sub-divisional police officer, provided crucial details about the case. He mentioned that the attack took place at 8.30 pm, and police teams reached the scene immediately. Thakur assured that the authorities are close to arresting the attackers, although the motive behind the murder is still under investigation. In a significant development, the attackers left behind their SUV at the crime scene after it got stuck in a trench and could not be retrieved.
