Both victims fell onto the road and suffered serious injuries, requiring immediate medical attention.

Police Action and Arrest

The Kolkata police swiftly responded to the incident, drawing up an FIR based on Kanchan Devi's signed complaint. She is a resident of Chaul Patty Road under Beleghata Police Station and is currently recovering from her wounds. Using CCTV footage as evidence, the police identified and arrested the accused driver, a resident of Sodepur under Khardah Police Station. The driver was allegedly heavily intoxicated at the time of the accident, which contributed to the severity of the collisions.
