According to police reports and an FIR filed based on a recorded complaint, the car first hit a pedestrian, Diya Mondal (21), near the Subhas Sarobar area. The vehicle then traveled a significant distance before striking another woman, Kanchan Devi (42), near a popular biryani shop on Beleghata Main Road. Both victims fell onto the road and suffered serious injuries, requiring immediate medical attention.
Police Action and Arrest
The Kolkata police swiftly responded to the incident, drawing up an FIR based on Kanchan Devi's signed complaint. She is a resident of Chaul Patty Road under Beleghata Police Station and is currently recovering from her wounds. Using CCTV footage as evidence, the police identified and arrested the accused driver, a resident of Sodepur under Khardah Police Station. The driver was allegedly heavily intoxicated at the time of the accident, which contributed to the severity of the collisions.

Both injured women were rushed to Nil Ratan Sircar Medical College and Hospital for treatment.
