Three Farm Laborers Booked, Police Hunt for Three Others in Kutch Minor Gangrape Case

In a shocking incident from Kutch district, three farm laborers have been formally booked by the police, while an intensive search operation is currently underway to apprehend three additional suspects. This case involves the alleged gangrape of a minor girl in a village located within the Bhachau taluka of Gujarat's Kutch district.

Details of the Alleged Crime

The victim, a 15-year-old and six-month-old girl, was acquainted with one of the primary accused individuals. This connection stemmed from her employment in a field situated close to where he worked. According to the police report, on February 5, this accused individual lured the minor to a secluded location under a false pretext.

Upon arrival, five other men were already present at the spot. It is alleged that all six individuals then took turns to sexually assault the girl in a horrific gangrape incident.

Police Action and Investigation

The girl's father filed a formal complaint at the Samakhiyali police station on February 7. Acting swiftly on the complaint, the police launched an immediate manhunt for the perpetrators.

VK Gandhvi, the Inspector at Samakhiyali police station, provided crucial details about the case. "The accused threatened to kill her brother if she revealed the incident to anyone," Inspector Gandhvi stated, highlighting the intimidation tactics used to silence the victim.

The investigative process has been thorough:

  • Medical examinations of the victim and the three arrested men have been completed.
  • Critical evidence has been meticulously collected from the crime scene with the assistance of the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL).

Legal Proceedings and Official Statements

Kutch East Superintendent of Police (SP) Sagar Bagmar addressed the next steps in the legal process. SP Bagmar confirmed that the victim's statement will be formally recorded in court under Section 183 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS). This step is vital for building a strong judicial case against the accused.

The police remain actively engaged in the search for the three remaining suspects connected to this grave crime. The case has sent shockwaves through the local community in Bhachau taluka, raising serious concerns about the safety of minors in the region.
