Labourer Arrested for Spade Attack Over Loud Music in Ludhiana

A labourer has been arrested in Ludhiana for allegedly attacking his neighbour with a spade and assaulting the neighbour's sister following a dispute over playing loud music in the Jodhewal area. The injured man suffered a head injury and is currently undergoing treatment at Civil Hospital.

Incident Details

According to police, the incident occurred on June 3 when the accused reportedly played music at a high volume, prompting the complainant's brother to object. Shortly thereafter, the accused and his accomplices entered the victim's house and attacked him with a spade. When the victim's sister intervened, she was also assaulted.

Legal Action Taken

Based on a complaint filed by the 28-year-old sister of the victim, the police registered an FIR under several sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including Section 109 (attempt to murder), Section 115(2) (hurt), Section 118(1) (hurt by dangerous weapon), Section 126(2) (wrongful restraint), Section 74 (assault on a woman), and Sections 190 and 191(2) (rioting) against the accused and seven others.

Investigation and Arrests

ASI Kuldeep Singh, the investigating officer, stated that the two families live in the same locality and have had prior disputes over loud music. The main accused has been arrested, while his associates are absconding. Police are conducting raids to apprehend them.

The injured man was taken to the hospital, after which the complaint was lodged. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the matter.
