A land dispute in Kotra Makrandpur village escalated into a violent confrontation on Monday evening, leaving an elderly man critically injured after he and his son were allegedly attacked with stones by a couple. The accused also reportedly fired a country-made pistol, though the intended target escaped unharmed.
Incident Details
According to the police, the dispute centers around an under-construction house in the village. The victims, Vikram Nishad and his father Gajraj Nishad, were present at the construction site when Jeet Kumar, a fellow villager, arrived with his wife Ramgeeta. The couple allegedly began hurling abuses at them before resorting to stone pelting.
During the attack, Gajraj Nishad sustained severe injuries. Vikram Nishad alleged that Jeet Kumar then produced a country-made pistol and fired at his father, who narrowly escaped the gunshot.
Police Action
Upon receiving the information, officers from the Sajeti police station rushed to the spot. They detained Jeet Kumar and his wife Ramgeeta and recovered a country-made pistol from their possession.
Sajeti station house officer Anuj Bharti confirmed that a case has been registered based on the victim's complaint, and a thorough investigation is currently underway.
