Lucknow Beautician Goes Missing, Family Suspects Abduction After Months of Harassment

A 23-year-old beautician from Lucknow has gone missing under suspicious circumstances, with her family alleging she was abducted by a man who had been harassing her for several months. The incident has prompted a police investigation and search operation in the city.

Details of the Disappearance

The woman, a resident of Deendayalpuram in the Takrohi area, worked at a beauty parlour near Munshi Pulia in Lucknow. According to her father's complaint, she left her home around 11 am on January 25 and did not return by 8 pm, raising immediate concerns among family members.

"When she did not return home till 8 pm, we were worried and tried calling her repeatedly, but her phone remained unreachable," the father stated in his police complaint. The family contacted her workplace, where the beauty parlour owner confirmed she had not reported for duty that day.

Further deepening the mystery, her mobile phone was later found to be switched off, intensifying the family's fears about her safety and whereabouts.

Allegations of Harassment and Threats

The father has made serious allegations against a local youth, claiming he had been harassing his daughter for an extended period. According to the family, this individual not only subjected her to frequent harassment but also extorted money from her on multiple occasions.

"The youth even threatened to kill her, which was why she did not tell her family about the harassment," the father revealed in his statement to authorities. This pattern of intimidation has led the family to suspect that the missing woman may have been abducted by the accused individual.

Police Response and Investigation

Police at the Indiranagar police station registered a First Information Report (FIR) on Monday based on the father's complaint. The case has been filed under sections 87 (kidnapping) and 351(2) (criminal intimidation) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Law enforcement officials have launched a comprehensive search operation to locate both the missing woman and the accused. Multiple police teams have been formed to pursue various leads in the case.

The investigation currently involves:

  • Scanning CCTV footage from areas surrounding the woman's home and workplace
  • Verifying possible locations where the accused might be hiding
  • Interviewing family members, colleagues, and acquaintances for additional information
  • Tracking digital footprints and communication records

Police authorities have assured the family and public that they are treating this as a priority case and are utilizing all available resources to resolve it swiftly. The community remains concerned as the search continues for the missing beautician from Lucknow's Indiranagar area.
