Parents and relatives report that their daily routines are now dominated by frantic attempts to maintain contact, with days beginning and ending with urgent phone calls and messages.

The situation has become particularly distressing for families whose members are in Iran for various purposes, including students pursuing religious and technical education, pilgrims visiting holy shrines, and workers employed in small businesses. When calls fail to connect or messages remain unanswered, simple worry rapidly escalates into full-blown panic.
"We are constantly checking our phones; even a brief text confirming his safety allows us to sleep at night," shared Husain Ali Askari, whose son is studying in Qom, near Tehran. "The uncertainty is unbearable."
Javed Ali, who has relatives in Tehran, described being glued to television news broadcasts since the conflict erupted. "Reports of bombings and civil unrest fill us with dread. For the past two days, video calls have been impossible due to internet shutdowns. All we crave is to hear their voices and know they are unharmed," he explained emotionally.
Local Tour Operators and Government Response
Tour operators and travel agents in Lucknow confirm that dozens of local families have relatives currently in Iran, with many struggling to maintain reliable communication channels. Shan Alam, a prominent tour operator, noted, "While many travelers returned to India a few days ago, several remain in Iran. The Indian embassy there is providing excellent support, maintaining contact with us and relaying crucial information about travelers to the Government of India."
The Central Government has issued a formal advisory, urging all Indian nationals in Iran—including students and pilgrims—to exercise extreme caution. Authorities have recommended that individuals consider leaving the country using available transportation options while ensuring they remain in close contact with the Indian embassy for updates and assistance.
This advisory underscores the gravity of the situation, as explosions have been reported in locations like Bahrain, Dubai, and Doha, with Iranian state media claiming a US fighter jet was downed in Kuwait. Simultaneously, Israel has conducted bombings on Hezbollah targets in Beirut, prompting Gulf nations to vow defensive measures.
