Lucknow Man Arrested for Alleged Threats and Attempted Assault on Daughter
In a disturbing incident in Lucknow, a man has been arrested for allegedly threatening a complainant to withdraw an earlier case and attempting to attack his daughter to exert pressure. The arrest took place in the PGI area, highlighting ongoing concerns about intimidation tactics in legal disputes.
Details of the Incident and Accused
Police have identified the accused as Akshay Pratap, a resident of Telibagh. According to the complaint filed by Shivam Singh, a resident of Sarathua village, Pratap was pressuring him to take back a previously registered case. The situation escalated on March 26 when the accused allegedly reached the complainant's house and later, in the evening, confronted his daughter near a local shop along with four to five associates.
The group is accused of attempting to assault her and issuing threats to the family. Additionally, the complainant alleged that the accused tried to vandalize a vehicle parked outside the house and used abusive language while warning them of consequences if the case was not withdrawn. Shivam Singh further claimed that similar threats had been made earlier over phone calls, indicating a pattern of harassment.
Police Response and Legal Action
Police were alerted through Dial 112, but the accused fled before their arrival. However, swift action followed as PGI police station in-charge Dhirendra Kumar Singh confirmed that an FIR has been registered. The main accused, Akshay Pratap, has been arrested and sent to jail. Efforts are ongoing to identify and arrest the remaining accused involved in the incident.
This case underscores the challenges faced by individuals in pursuing legal recourse under pressure. Authorities are emphasizing the importance of reporting such threats promptly to prevent escalation and ensure justice.
