Lucknow Police Achieve Breakthrough with Yaksh App in Twin Robbery Cases
In a significant demonstration of modern policing, Lucknow Police announced on Sunday that they have successfully solved two daring robbery cases within a remarkable 48-hour timeframe. The key to this swift resolution was the newly introduced 'Yaksh App', a digital platform designed to enhance criminal investigation capabilities.
Details of the Twin Robberies
The two separate but closely timed robberies occurred on March 19 within the jurisdiction of the Kakori police station area. Both incidents took place within less than an hour of each other, creating an urgent situation for law enforcement.
In the first reported case, complainant Sumit Tiwari detailed how four unidentified assailants assaulted him near Roshan Lawn on Hardoi Road. The perpetrators not only physically attacked him but also looted his motorcycle and mobile phone before fleeing the scene.
Almost immediately following this incident, another victim named Manoj experienced a similar fate near the Maunda petrol pump. He was robbed of his motorcycle and wallet by unidentified individuals, further escalating the urgency for police intervention.
Police Investigation Strategy
Police authorities promptly registered two First Information Reports (FIRs) under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Recognizing the seriousness of the situation, they formed four specialized teams, including surveillance units, to investigate the cases comprehensively.
The investigation began with extensive analysis of CCTV footage from both crime locations. Investigators carefully examined the recordings and successfully extracted clear images of the suspects, which would prove crucial for identification purposes.

The system successfully identified Ajay Rajput, a 22-year-old resident of Kakori, as a primary suspect in both robberies. Arrest and Recovery Operation
Based on technical surveillance data and valuable inputs from police informers, authorities conducted a late-night checking operation near the Narauna canal turn. At approximately 2:10 am on March 22, police successfully apprehended Ajay Rajput along with his associate Deepanshu, also known as Lucky Rajput, who is 19 years old.
During subsequent interrogation, both accused individuals confessed to committing the robberies. They revealed that two additional accomplices participated in the crimes but remain absconding, with police continuing their search for these individuals.
Recovered Evidence
The police operation resulted in significant recoveries of stolen property. Authorities seized one of the looted motorcycles, two stolen mobile phones, Rs 590 in cash, and another motorcycle that was used during the commission of the crimes.
DCP West Zone Vishwajeet Srivastava confirmed these recoveries and praised the investigative team's efficiency. "The successful resolution of these cases within 48 hours demonstrates the effectiveness of combining traditional policing methods with modern technological tools like the Yaksh App," he stated.
