Lucknow Teenager Killed in High-Speed Bike Stunt Tragedy
A tragic accident near Janeshwar Mishra Park in Lucknow has claimed the life of a 17-year-old Class XII student. The incident occurred on Sunday when the teenager's motorcycle collided with a scooter and then crashed into a road divider during what police describe as a high-speed bike stunt race.
Details of the Fatal Accident
The accident took place near Gate No. 5 of Janeshwar Mishra Park in the Gomti Nagar Extension area. According to police reports, two youths were allegedly racing on the road—one riding a Bullet motorcycle and the other on a Kawasaki bike. During their high-speed race, a scooter unexpectedly appeared ahead of them, leading to a collision.
The rider of the Bullet motorcycle, identified as Naitik Kumar (17), suffered severe head injuries after his head struck the road divider following the initial impact. His friend riding the Kawasaki bike immediately rushed him to a nearby hospital, but doctors declared Naitik dead during treatment.
Victim Profile and Family Details
Naitik Kumar was a resident of Vishesh Khand in Gomti Nagar Extension and was studying in Class 12 at the time of his death. His father, Ram Ikbal, works as an engineer in the electricity department. The family has been devastated by the sudden loss of their teenage son.
Two other youths traveling with Naitik—Aditya Srivastava and Krishna Singh—were also injured in the accident. Fortunately, both received medical treatment and were discharged from the hospital after their condition stabilized.
Evidence and Investigation
Police confirmed that the entire incident was captured on a camera mounted on the Kawasaki bike. After the accident, one of Naitik's friends posted a video on social media with the poignant message: "Everything ended in a moment."
Gomti Nagar Extension Station House Officer Sudhir Awasthi stated that CCTV footage from the area is being thoroughly examined to determine the exact cause of the accident and sequence of events. The police have informed the victim's family and taken the body into custody, though the family refused to allow a post-mortem examination. After completing all legal formalities, the body was handed over to the grieving family.
Community Concerns Over Road Safety
Residents who regularly visit Janeshwar Mishra Park for morning walks have expressed serious concerns about the growing danger posed by speeding vehicles in the area. Many have called for increased police vigilance and stricter enforcement of traffic regulations to prevent such tragedies in the future.
This incident highlights the ongoing issue of reckless driving and high-speed stunts among youth, particularly in urban areas where such activities endanger both participants and innocent bystanders. Authorities are urging parents and community members to counsel young people about road safety and the potentially fatal consequences of irresponsible driving behavior.
