Lucknow: Woman Dies After Intervening in Husband-Son Dispute

A tragic incident occurred in the Takia Peer Gyan locality of Lucknow's Saadatganj area, where a 60-year-old woman lost her life after collapsing while trying to mediate a dispute between her husband and son. The deceased has been identified as Zeenat, also known as Marjana.

According to police, the altercation began around 12:30 am when the couple's son, Salman, returned home allegedly intoxicated. An argument broke out between Salman and his father, Rais Ahmad. Zeenat stepped in to defuse the situation, but the scuffle escalated.

During the confrontation, Zeenat reportedly slipped, fell, and lost consciousness. Family members immediately rushed her to the Trauma Centre, where doctors declared her dead upon arrival.

Angered by the incident, local residents tied Salman to a hand pump when he returned from the hospital and alerted the police. When taken into custody, Salman broke down and pleaded to see his mother.

SHO Saadatganj Santosh Arya inspected the body and stated that no external injury marks were found during the preliminary examination. The exact cause of death will be confirmed after the post-mortem.

Police have detained Salman for questioning. Further action will be decided based on the post-mortem findings and ongoing investigation.
