More than 100 passengers, including children, narrowly escaped injury when a bus caught fire on the Ludhiana-Delhi highway near Doraha on Sunday. The bus, which was en route to Uttar Pradesh, suddenly erupted in flames, forcing passengers to jump out of windows to safety.

No major injuries reported

According to officials, no one sustained major injuries in the incident. Some passengers suffered minor bruises while evacuating the burning vehicle. The fire was brought under control by fire tenders that arrived at the scene.

Passengers allege overloading, lack of permit

Passengers alleged that the bus was overloaded and expressed suspicions that it might be operating without a valid permit. The police have launched an investigation into these claims. Khanna SDM Swati Tiwana visited the site and reviewed the rescue operations.
