Ludhiana Man Charged with Raping Sister-in-Law

Ludhiana: Police have charged a man with blackmailing his sister-in-law and repeatedly raping her after recording a video of her bathing at his residence. The exploitation began in 2024 when the woman visited her sister's home. According to the police complaint, the suspect used the surreptitiously recorded video to extort and sexually assault her over an extended period.

Abuse and Pregnancy

The abuse resulted in a pregnancy, which the suspect allegedly terminated by forcing the survivor to consume abortifacient medication. The survivor also stated that the suspect physically assaulted her whenever she attempted to disclose the abuse to her family.

Complaint and Charges

After initially remaining silent out of fear, she recently confided in her relatives and approached authorities. The suspect faces multiple charges under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including Section 64(2)(m) for repeated rape, alongside criminal intimidation, voluntarily causing hurt, extortion, and insulting the modesty of a woman.

An assistant sub-inspector confirmed that a formal case was registered immediately following the complaint. Police teams are actively searching for the suspect.
