Family Lodges Complaint After Shocking Discovery
The incident came to light when the girl's family lodged a formal complaint with the Ludhiana police. According to the FIR, which was registered based on the complaint filed by the girl's mother, the minor was working at the shop of one of the accused. On March 5, the girl complained of severe abdominal pain, prompting her mother to procure some medicine for her.
Hours later, in a shocking turn of events, the minor gave birth to a baby boy at their residence. The mother claimed she had been completely unaware of her daughter's pregnancy until that moment. Upon questioning, the girl revealed the harrowing truth: her employer and his friend had been sexually assaulting her over a period of time.
Legal Action and Police Investigation Underway
The Ludhiana police have acted swiftly, registering a case against both accused individuals. The investigating officer confirmed that an FIR has been lodged under Section 64 (rape) and Section 351 (2) (criminal intimidation) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with Section 4 of the Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
