Police in Ludhiana have initiated a comprehensive murder investigation following the tragic death of a 19-year-old youth in the Atam Nagar area. The case has taken a dramatic turn with allegations from the victim's family that his teenage friend and the friend's father conspired to kill him.

The Model Town police station officially registered the case after Mohit, a Class-XI student residing in Azad Nagar, succumbed to injuries sustained during a mysterious encounter on April 1. According to the victim's father, Surinder Kumar Gumbar, the sequence of events began when a 14-year-old friend arrived at their home on a scooter and took Mohit out for the evening.
Suspicion quickly arose when the minor returned alone later that night. When questioned by Mohit's mother, the teenager allegedly provided evasive answers, claiming that Mohit had departed with another acquaintance. This prompted the family to launch a frantic search throughout the neighborhood.
Discovery and Medical Response
The family's desperate efforts led them to find Mohit lying unconscious outside a local public school. He was immediately rushed to the Civil Hospital for emergency treatment. Due to the severity of his injuries, doctors referred him to the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGI). Tragically, Mohit succumbed to his injuries during transport to the advanced medical facility.
Allegations of Criminal Conspiracy
The family's suspicions intensified significantly the following day when the minor and his father visited their home. According to the formal police complaint, the pair presented what investigators describe as a "different version of events," claiming they had merely seen Mohit near the school the previous night.
"The accused kept changing his statements," Gumbar told police investigators, alleging that the minor, his father, and unidentified associates brutally assaulted his son as part of what he characterized as a "planned conspiracy."

The Model Town police have registered the case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for multiple serious offenses including:

Inspector Jaswinder Singh, the station house officer (SHO) of Model Town police station, confirmed that the victim's body has been sent for a thorough postmortem examination to determine the precise cause of death. "Efforts are in progress to apprehend the accused," the SHO stated emphatically.
