Ludhiana Police Book Two for Alleged Kidnapping of Minor Girl After Tuition

The Ludhiana police have taken swift action by booking two individuals for the alleged kidnapping of a minor girl, an incident that occurred after she had gone for tuition with her younger brother. This distressing case has raised serious concerns about child safety in the city, prompting immediate police intervention.

Family's Account and Police Complaint Details

According to the father of the victim, his 14-year-old daughter and 12-year-old son had attended tuition classes on Wednesday. In the evening, the son returned home alone and reported that his sister had been taken away by two young men in a white car. The father, upon conducting his own preliminary investigation, managed to identify one of the accused. He expressed suspicion that the accused, along with an accomplice, had lured his minor daughter away with promises of marriage, leading to her abduction.

The family promptly informed the authorities, and police at the Daba police station have registered a formal case. The charges have been filed under sections 137(2), which pertains to kidnapping-related offenses, and section 96, concerning the procuration of a child, as per the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). This legal action underscores the gravity of the situation and the police's commitment to addressing such crimes.

Ongoing Investigation and Police Efforts

Investigating officer ASI Dharam Pal provided an update on the case, stating that the accused individuals have not yet been arrested. However, he confirmed that intensive raids are currently being conducted across Ludhiana to apprehend them. The police are leveraging all available resources to ensure the safe recovery of the minor girl and bring the perpetrators to justice.

This incident has sparked discussions about governance and civic safety in Ludhiana, highlighting the need for enhanced measures to protect children, especially in educational settings like tuition centers. The community is urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities immediately.
