In a proactive security move, the Ludhiana Rural Police organized a large-scale mock drill at the Jagraon court complex on Wednesday. This exercise came as a direct response to recent bomb threats that targeted the Ludhiana judicial complex.
Coordinated Evacuation and Search Operation
Led by Jagraon City SHO Inspector Parminder Singh, the operation aimed to test emergency readiness and ensure the safety of the legal community. The drill started with a well-coordinated evacuation of the entire court premises.
To avoid unnecessary panic, judges and members of the Bar Association received advance notification. Lawyers and court staff quickly vacated the building within minutes after receiving alerts through the association's digital communication channels.
Specialized Teams Deployed for Thorough Inspection
Once the complex was completely clear, authorities deployed specialized teams to conduct an exhaustive search. A bomb disposal squad and a canine unit meticulously examined courtrooms, corridors, and other areas of the building.
Inspector Parminder Singh emphasized that this exercise was purely precautionary. He clarified that no specific threat had been received for the Jagraon area. The police conducted this drill to enhance preparedness and response capabilities.
No Suspicious Items Found, Normalcy Restored
The intensive inspection lasted approximately one hour. During this period, security personnel thoroughly checked the entire complex. They found no suspicious items or materials that could pose any danger.
Following the successful completion of the drill, authorities declared the complex safe. Judicial work resumed promptly after the all-clear signal. The court returned to its normal functioning without any disruption to legal proceedings.
Heightened Security Measures Across Public Spaces
Police sources revealed that similar security checks are being intensified at other high-traffic locations. This includes local bus stands and railway stations throughout the region.
These routine checks form part of broader security measures during the current period of heightened alert. The police aim to maintain public safety and prevent any potential security breaches across important public facilities.
The mock drill demonstrated the police department's commitment to proactive security planning. It also showcased their coordination with judicial authorities to protect critical infrastructure and ensure public confidence in security arrangements.
