Ludhiana SSP Seeks Urgent Fire Prevention Measures After Spate of Blazes
Ludhiana SSP Urges Fire Prevention After Multiple Blazes

Ludhiana: Following a surge of blazes across the Khanna police district, SSP Darpan Ahluwalia has made a written request to the deputy commissioner for urgent preventive measures to save property and lives.

The call for action follows recent fires at a furniture showroom on Samrala Road, clothing shops on GT Road, and a water park in Malakpur. Industrial areas have also been hit, with fires reported at steel plants in Doraha and a grocery store in Machhiwara.

Proposed Measures

Ahluwalia proposed establishing a district-level control room to coordinate safety efforts across all departments. She also recommended that the Punjab Pollution Control Board conduct regular inspections and safety audits of factories, particularly those handling flammable chemicals, junk, or scrap materials.

Investigation and Awareness

The SSP also requested an expert team to investigate the causes of previous fires, identify recurring hazards, and lead public awareness campaigns to prevent future tragedies.

These steps aim to enhance fire safety and prevent loss of life and property in the region.
