Violent Clash at Wedding Exposes Criminal Network
The recent wedding firing incident in Ludhiana has revealed shocking details about the accused individuals, who are no strangers to criminal activities. According to police investigations, one of the main accused has approximately 18 FIRs registered against him, while others have three to four cases filed in their names.
Criminal Backgrounds of the Accused
Sadar police have registered a case against six identified and twelve unidentified accused, with six arrests made so far. Those booked include Ankur, Jasvir Singh Jassa, Kulpreet Singh alias Rubal (who serves as president of the Ludhiana Vegetable Market), Jatinder Kumar Dawar, Shubham Arora alias Shubham Mota, and Yuvraj Singh, along with their aides.
Ludhiana police commissioner Swapan Sharma provided detailed background on the accused: "The accused Rubal has three FIRs against him, including a case of attempt to murder. Ankur has a murder bid case and some cases of scuffle registered against him. Shubham Arora has over 15 FIRs registered against him, the majority of which are for murder attempt."
Political Connections and Serious Charges
What makes this case particularly concerning is the political connections of some accused. Investigation reveals that some of them are frequently seen with political leaders of Ludhiana at various functions and political rallies, raising questions about potential patronage networks.
The FIR has been lodged under serious sections including:
- Section 109 (attempt to murder)
- Section 103 (murder)
- Section 191(3) (rioting, armed with deadly weapons)
- Section 190 (every member of unlawful assembly guilty of offence committed in prosecution of common intention) of BNS
- Sections 25-27 of the Arms Act
Violent History and Ongoing Investigations
The current case stems from a violent incident on February 21, 2024, when members of rival gangs engaged in a violent clash in Nava Mohalla. During the confrontation, gunshots were fired by one group, resulting in Shubham Mota and his aide Nadeem sustaining bullet injuries.
When questioned about whether the accused could be classified as gangsters, Police Commissioner Sharma clarified: "They are just local criminals who fight and attack each other for fame. Police have apprehended six accused as of now, and raids are being conducted to arrest the remaining accused."
The police continue their investigation and search operations to apprehend all individuals involved in this disturbing case that highlights the intersection of crime and political connections in the region.
