In a shocking development from Ludhiana, two central suspects in a brutal daylight gangland execution that claimed the lives of two innocent wedding guests have disappeared. This escape occurred after the district police permitted them to remain at liberty while awaiting the results of an internal inquiry.
The Great Escape and Police Oversight Questions
Despite being named in the initial First Information Report (FIR) for the November 2025 "Bath Castle" massacre, Jatinder Kumar Dawar and Kulpreet Singh, also known as Rubal, managed to delay their arrests by asserting their innocence. By the time investigators formally rejected these claims, both individuals had fled, forcing authorities to scramble and issue international lookout notices.
The escape has ignited serious concerns about police oversight and procedural lapses. Jatinder Kumar Dawar, whose licensed firearm was allegedly used in the shootout, was initially hospitalized with a bullet wound sustained during the violent clash. Because an inquiry into his "innocence" was technically still open, police did not place him under guard. Upon his discharge from the hospital, Dawar simply walked away without hindrance.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP-II) Karanveer Singh stated, "Dawar was admitted to the hospital, however, could not be arrested as an inquiry was pending. By the time the police completed the inquiry and denied them a clean chit, both Rubal and Dawar had managed to escape. They are now absconding."
Details of the November 2025 Massacre
The charges originate from a violent confrontation on November 29, 2025, during the wedding celebration of contractor Varinder Kapoor. A long-standing and bitter rivalry between two notorious criminals, Ankush "Ankur" Kanojia and Shubham Arora, reached a deadly climax on the dance floor.
What began as a heated verbal argument rapidly escalated into a full-blown war zone, with at least 40 rounds fired from multiple weapons. The indiscriminate crossfire resulted in the tragic deaths of two bystanders: Vasu Chopra, a close friend and neighbor of the groom, and Neeru Chhabra, the groom's aunt who was visiting from Jalandhar.
Current Legal Status and Ongoing Investigations
While the two primary suspects remain at large, the Sadar police have filed a formal chargesheet against Ankush Kanojia, who is currently in custody. In related actions, police have arrested four individuals for harboring the fugitives and three security guards from the Pakhowal Road resort for negligence in allowing firearms onto the premises.
Authorities are now actively in the process of issuing a Look Out Circular (LOC) for Shubham Arora and his remaining associates to prevent them from fleeing the country. This measure aims to tighten security and ensure that all involved parties are brought to justice.
