Ludhiana Worker Alleges Kidnapping; Police Deny Abduction

A factory worker from Vijay Nagar, Mundian, has filed a police complaint accusing a group of men of kidnapping him in a car and assaulting him. The victim, Suyamitra (30), also alleged that the accused urinated on him before dumping him on the roadside. However, police have countered the claim, stating that while he was beaten up, there was no kidnapping.

Details of the Incident

In his complaint, Suyamitra stated that he had gone to the house of a woman colleague to return borrowed money. He claimed that her husband and cousins forcibly took him in a car, thrashed him, and urinated on him. The accused then allegedly left him on the roadside and fled.

Police Response

ASI Gurcharan Singh, in charge of the Mundian Kalan police post, confirmed that an investigation was launched after receiving the complaint. He added that the kidnapping allegations could not be verified. Police said, "Both the accused and the victim have sought time as they are in talks for a compromise. Police will lodge an FIR if the victim proceeds with his complaint."
