Ahmedabad Police Seize Luxury Car Over Minor Liquor Violation

In a strict enforcement action, a 28-year-old resident of Shela in Ahmedabad lost possession of his high-end car after police allegedly discovered 60ml of liquor and two e-cigarettes during a late-night vehicle inspection near Gotila Garden on Sindhu Bhavan Road, officials confirmed on Wednesday.

Incident Details and Police Action

The incident occurred on Tuesday night when a team from the Bodakdev police station was conducting a routine checking drive in the area, which has seen frequent late-night vehicle movement. Around 10 pm, a black luxury car approaching from Pakwan crossroads was stopped for inspection.

During the search, police reported finding two e-cigarettes and an open 200ml liquor bottle, containing approximately 60ml of liquid. As the occupant failed to produce a valid permit for carrying liquor, the items were immediately seized on the spot in the presence of witnesses.

Context and Implications

Police sources indicated that this action is part of intensified enforcement drives in the region, aimed at curbing illegal activities. The case has been formally registered with the Bodakdev police, and an investigation is currently underway.

This incident has garnered significant attention due to the seizure of a high-value vehicle over a relatively small quantity of liquor, underscoring the rigorous enforcement of prohibition laws in Gujarat. It serves as a stark reminder of the state's zero-tolerance policy towards alcohol-related offenses, even in minor cases.

The strict measures highlight the authorities' commitment to upholding the law, regardless of the circumstances or the individuals involved. Residents and visitors are advised to adhere strictly to local regulations to avoid similar consequences.
