Security has been tightened at the historic Maiser Khana temple, located approximately 30 kilometers from Bathinda town, following the receipt of a threatening email by the temple committee. The police have launched a search operation on the premises to ensure safety.
Email Received, Police Respond
Advocate Rajan Garg, president of the Maiser Khana Temple Committee, informed The Tribune that the threatening email was received on Wednesday evening. In response, police personnel reached the temple and conducted thorough frisking and checking operations. Despite the heightened alert, the temple remains open, and devotees are being allowed to offer prayers as usual.
As of the filing of this report, no suspicious objects have been discovered on the premises. Garg noted that similar threatening emails had been received earlier by some private schools in Bathinda district, which were later determined to be hoax messages.
Investigation Underway
The police are currently investigating the source of the email and verifying its authenticity. Officials have stated that all necessary security measures have been implemented to ensure the safety of devotees visiting the shrine.
