In a significant breakthrough against organized drug trafficking, Delhi Police in coordination with Telangana's specialized EAGLE force has dismantled a widespread narcotics network operating across multiple Indian cities. The month-long operation revealed that female sex workers were being coerced into drug peddling activities.
International Connections Uncovered
The investigation took a dramatic turn when security agencies apprehended three foreign nationals - two Nigerians and one Tanzanian - who were operating from Delhi. These individuals were identified as the primary suppliers of OG ganja to recipients in Hyderabad and Andhra University.
According to police sources, the foreign nationals had established a sophisticated supply chain that extended to various cities including Gwalior, Guwahati, Visakhapatnam, and Hyderabad. The racket came to light when security agencies raided a service apartment in Visakhapatnam, catching several women with men who had booked them through a mobile application.
Massive Police Operation
The Telangana EAGLE force demonstrated exceptional commitment to the operation by deploying 120 police personnel to Delhi in two railway bogies nearly a month ago. During this extensive surveillance period, security forces monitored areas where wanted Nigerian drug peddlers were known to operate.
The coordinated effort culminated in the arrest of 50 Nigerian nationals involved in drug peddling across Delhi. During the raids, law enforcement agencies seized substantial quantities of dangerous drugs including cocaine and methamphetamine, though officials have not yet disclosed the exact quantities recovered.
Dual Criminal Operations Exposed
Police investigations revealed that the foreign nationals operating in Visakhapatnam were involved in both prostitution and drug distribution, with drug peddling being their primary objective. The sophisticated network used various cover operations to conceal their narcotics trafficking activities.
The successful operation highlights the growing threat of international drug networks operating within India and the importance of inter-state police cooperation in combating organized crime. The Delhi Police took the lead role in this inter-state operation, working closely with Telangana's anti-narcotics EAGLE force to dismantle the extensive network that had spread its tentacles across multiple states.
