Man and Sister-in-Law Found Hanging in Mainpuri Village, Police Probe Underway
In a tragic incident in Mainpuri district, a man and his sister-in-law were found hanging from a tree in Bakhtpura village early Saturday morning. The bodies were discovered hours after they went missing from their home, according to police reports.
Discovery and Initial Response
The bodies of Sarojini, aged 30, and Akhilesh Kumar, aged 18, were spotted around 4 am by farmers heading to their fields. The farmers immediately alerted the police, who dispatched a team to the scene. The police brought the bodies down and sent them for a post-mortem examination to determine the cause of death.
Events Leading Up to the Incident
Police stated that both individuals had attended a local religious event in the village on Friday evening. After the event, they visited the Sheetla Mata temple and returned home around 8 pm. However, they left the house again at approximately 11 pm and did not return, leading to their disappearance.
The bodies were found hanging from a tree located about 400 metres from their house within the village. Sarojini was married to Pushpendra, who works at a brick kiln in Bikaner, Rajasthan, and the couple has two children.
