A 35-year-old man was arrested in Muzaffarnagar district for allegedly posting a video on social media containing objectionable and abusive remarks against the right-wing outfit Bajrang Dal. The accused later appeared in a video released by police on Sunday, apologizing and seeking forgiveness from the outfit's members.

Officials stated that the video surfaced on Saturday and contained offensive comments that could disturb religious and social harmony, prompting police to take cognizance of the clip. Following an investigation, Aqil Ahmed, a daily wager from Palri village under Shahpur police station, was arrested near Kutba village.
Legal Action
A case was registered against him under several sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including Section 353(2) (circulating false information with intent to promote enmity between two groups), Section 299 (malicious acts intended to outrage religious feelings), Section 352 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace), Section 352(3) (insult targeting religion), and Section 351(3) (criminal intimidation).
