Man Arrested for Forging Engineering Certificate in Kerala

Thiruvananthapuram: Karamana police have arrested a 51-year-old man for allegedly attempting to secure an engineering certificate by submitting forged documents and a tampered mark list to the office of the controller of technical examinations. The accused, identified as Sanil Jose, a resident of Sakthan Nagar in Thrissur, was taken into custody following a complaint filed by the joint controller of technical examinations.

Details of the Case

According to police officials, the accused approached the office claiming that his original Kerala Govt Certificate Examination (KGCE) certificate had been lost. KGCE is a technical qualification awarded under the technical education system and is recognized for various engineering-related trades and diploma-level courses. During the verification of records, officials reportedly noticed discrepancies in the documents submitted by Jose. A detailed scrutiny revealed manipulation of academic records, prompting the authorities to initiate further inquiries.

Investigation and Legal Proceedings

The accused was taken into custody and questioned by the police. Authorities are currently examining whether Jose had used similar forged documents in the past or received assistance from others in preparing the records. He was produced before a court and remanded in judicial custody. The investigation is ongoing to uncover any potential network involved in document forgery.
