Man Arrested for Killing Nephew in Lucknow

Lucknow: A 26-year-old man was arrested for allegedly killing his 22-year-old nephew in Itaunja, police said. The accused was taken into custody on Wednesday by a joint team of the surveillance unit (DCP North) and Itaunja police. Authorities also recovered the plastic strap allegedly used in the murder.

Details of the Incident

The victim, a resident of Madiyaon, was found dead in a field in Akbarpur village under Itaunja police station limits. Following the discovery, an FIR was lodged by the victim's father. During interrogation, the accused reportedly revealed that the youth was his nephew and frequently visited his house. He claimed that the victim was making inappropriate advances towards his sister and did not change his behavior despite repeated warnings, according to DCP North Gopal Krishna Choudhary.

Murder Plan

Police investigations revealed that the accused hatched a plan to eliminate the youth. He called the victim to Akbarpur village on June 1, where he allegedly made him consume alcohol and later strangled him with a plastic packing strap. The accused has been sent to judicial custody as the case proceeds.
