A shocking case of violence has emerged from the Muttathara area, where a 60-year-old man was allegedly assaulted with a beer bottle and subjected to a brutal beating near Pathekkar ground on Saturday night. The Poonthura police have officially registered a case in connection with this disturbing incident, though no arrests have been reported as of now.
Details of the Assault
The victim, identified as Sainudheen, a resident of Beemapally, provided a harrowing account to the police. According to his statement, the accused, Seidali, also known as Mondi Seidali, intercepted him around 8:15 PM on Saturday. The confrontation began with verbal abuse, reportedly stemming from a suspected police complaint filed by Sainudheen.
The situation quickly escalated into physical violence. Seidali allegedly punched Sainudheen and continued to kick him repeatedly on the chest and abdomen, causing significant distress and injury.
Use of a Beer Bottle as a Weapon
In a particularly alarming turn of events, the accused then picked up a beer bottle and attempted to strike the victim on the head. Although Sainudheen tried to evade the blow, the bottle hit his face, resulting in a bleeding injury to his nose. A second attempt with the bottle reportedly struck his teeth, loosening one of them.
