Nagpur: A 36-year-old man was allegedly assaulted at a beer bar on Wardha Road under Beltarodi police station limits late Monday night. Police said Shakti Thakur, a native of Chhindwara in Madhya Pradesh, has been staying with his mother-in-law in Chinchbhuvan since June 1. He visited the bar around 12.30am on June 15, where he got into a verbal altercation with Arbaaz Saudagar.
As the argument escalated, Saudagar and three others allegedly assaulted Thakur, striking him on the head with a glass bottle. He was rushed to a private hospital for treatment. Beltarodi police have registered a case under relevant sections, including attempt to murder. No arrests have been made, and investigation is underway.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Monday, June 15, at a beer bar located on Wardha Road. According to police, the victim, Shakti Thakur, had been residing with his mother-in-law in Chinchbhuvan since the beginning of June. He arrived at the bar around 12:30 am and soon became involved in a heated exchange with Arbaaz Saudagar.
The confrontation quickly turned physical, with Saudagar and three unidentified accomplices attacking Thakur. They used a glass bottle as a weapon, striking him on the head, causing severe injuries. Witnesses at the scene alerted authorities, and Thakur was immediately taken to a nearby private hospital for medical care.
Legal Action
The Beltarodi police have lodged a First Information Report (FIR) against the accused under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including Section 307 (attempt to murder). Despite the severity of the charges, no arrests have been made so far. Police are actively investigating the case and searching for the suspects.
Authorities are also reviewing CCTV footage from the bar and surrounding areas to identify the other assailants. Further updates are expected as the investigation progresses.
