Man beaten, stabbed to death at Indore café over old dispute

A 22-year-old man was beaten with sticks and stabbed to death by a group of assailants at a café in Indore's Dwarkapuri area late on Thursday night. Police suspect an old dispute, possibly linked to a love affair, as the motive behind the murder.

Incident Details

The incident took place around midnight at a café on 60-Feet Road in Vidur Nagar. The victim, identified as Krish Shrivastava, a resident of Vidur Nagar, was sitting with two friends when four men allegedly arrived on motorcycles and picked a fight with the group. As the confrontation escalated, the accused pulled out weapons, prompting Krish's friends to flee the spot.

Police said the attackers then repeatedly stabbed Krish and assaulted him with sticks. He was rushed to a hospital by family members but succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

Dwarkapuri police have named Ankit Pal, Aniket Pal, Gaurav Kala, and Shiva alias Shivam Pal as accused in the case. All four have been taken into custody for questioning. Investigators said the number of accused could increase as the probe progresses. Police records show that Gaurav is involved in four previous criminal cases, while Ankit has two cases registered against him.

Motive and Investigation

ACP Shivendu Joshi said that preliminary investigation points to an old enmity between two groups. Officials said there were earlier confrontations between the victim and the accused over the same issue. Investigators are examining those incidents to establish the sequence leading to the murder.

Victim's Background

Krish previously worked in billing operations at Choithram Mandi but had been unemployed for the past three months. He is survived by his father Mahendra, who sells vegetables at the mandi, mother Roshni, and an elder sister. Police have registered a murder case.
