Brutal Public Murder Shocks Nanded Residents

A horrific public murder unfolded in the busy Milindnagar area of Junaganj, Nanded on Thursday evening, leaving residents traumatized. A 25-year-old man with criminal antecedents was chased, shot at, and then brutally bludgeoned to death with floor tiles in full public view.

Victim and Assailants Identified

The victim, identified as Saksham Gautam Tate, had been released from jail just two months ago in a preventive detention case. According to police investigations, the assailants included the father and brother of a woman with whom Tate was in a relationship, revealing a personal motive behind the brutal attack.

Nanded sub-divisional police officer (SDPO) Prashant Shinde confirmed that four of the adult assailants and the woman's mother have been arrested, while a minor has been detained on charges of conspiracy and murder.

The Sequence of Violent Events

The tragedy began when Tate and his friends were casually chatting near a tea stall in Milindnagar. What started as an argument between Tate and one of the assailants quickly escalated into a violent confrontation. The assailant and his accomplice fired at Tate, with the bullet striking him in the chest, causing him to collapse on the ground.

As Tate lay injured, the attack turned even more brutal. Three other assailants joined the assault, picking up floor tiles from nearby and repeatedly smashing them on Tate's head. The force of the attack was so severe that it killed him instantly, according to police officials.

Police Response and Arrests

The brutal nature of the attack in a crowded residential area caused widespread panic among local residents. SDPO Prashant Shinde immediately rushed to the site with his team from the Itwara police station. Checkpoints were set up across the area within minutes of the incident being reported.

Police efficiency led to two assailants being taken into custody within an hour of the murder. Subsequent investigations resulted in the arrest of all those involved in the alleged conspiracy and murder. Police revealed that all arrested individuals have criminal records and are known to police authorities.

An FIR has been registered at Itwara police station under multiple sections including Sections 103, 61(2), 189, 190(1), 191(2), 191(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023. Additional charges have been filed under Sections 3(2)(v), 3(2)(va) of the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, and Section 3/25 of the Indian Arms Act.

The detained minor has been sent to a juvenile correctional facility, while the adult accused remain in police custody as further investigation continues. Police sources indicated that Tate and the main assailant were once close friends, but their relationship had soured recently, possibly contributing to the violent outcome.
