According to the complaint filed by the victim, she is employed as a sanitation worker along with her elder sister at a housing complex in Tragad. The woman visits the premises every morning for work. Police officials stated that the accused had been staying as a guest at one of the flats in the society for the past several days.

First Encounter in the Elevator

The complainant alleged that two days ago, while she took the elevator to go to the seventh floor, the accused entered the lift, held her hand, and made inappropriate remarks about her tattoos. He also passed caste-related comments, which deeply offended the woman. She objected to the remarks before getting off the lift.

Second Encounter at the Main Gate

The next morning, while the woman was collecting garbage near the society's main gate, the accused allegedly stopped her and asked her to find a girl for him. He then made sexually explicit gestures and told her he would pay whatever amount she asked for. He also allegedly offered her money in exchange for sexual favors.

Aggressive Behavior and Abuse

Police said that when the woman objected to his behavior, the accused became aggressive and abused her using caste-related slurs. The woman later informed her supervisor and society office-bearers about the incident. Residents called the police, but the accused managed to flee before their arrival.

Legal Action Taken

Sabarmati police have registered a case under sections related to harassment and atrocities. An investigation has been launched to apprehend the accused. Authorities are reviewing CCTV footage and gathering statements from witnesses.
