Man Brutally Beaten and Buried Alive in Raipur Over Stalking Incident
In a shocking case of violence, a 29-year-old man was brutally beaten and buried alive in Raipur, allegedly by the beau of a woman he was stalking. The victim, identified as Nitesh Batra, a local contractor, had been missing since March 16 before his body was discovered five days later in a pit in the Abhanpur region.
Gruesome Discovery and Police Investigation
On March 21, villagers spotted a partially buried body with one hand and one leg protruding from the soil, alerting authorities. Raipur rural Superintendent of Police Shweta Srivastava confirmed that police have arrested three persons, including a woman, and detained two juveniles in connection with the murder. Another accused remains on the run as the investigation continues.
Police stated that Batra harboured feelings for the woman and had been persistently stalking her. On the night of March 16, he was standing near her house when he was confronted by her beau. The argument quickly escalated into a violent assault, leading to Batra's death and subsequent burial.
CCTV and Technical Analysis Key to Crack Case
Authorities cracked the case using a combination of CCTV footage from a wide radius, technical analysis, and inputs from informers. This multi-pronged approach helped police piece together the events leading to the gruesome crime and identify the perpetrators.
