A 55-year-old man died during a police raid in Naranganpur village under Kailadevi police station limits in Sambhal district on Tuesday night, sparking allegations of police excess from family members, which officials have firmly denied.

According to police statements, the raid was conducted by a team from Badaun district in connection with a sensitive case involving the elopement of a woman. Officials revealed that Har Charan Das's son had allegedly eloped approximately ten days ago with his daughter's sister-in-law, leading to a formal case being registered at Bisauli police station in Badaun.
Although the First Information Report (FIR) was specifically filed against his son, authorities were also actively searching for Har Charan Das as part of their investigation. Police sources indicated that Das had been staying at his in-laws' house in Naranganpur for several days to evade arrest, and his location was meticulously traced prior to the raid.

"A thorough postmortem was conducted, and no visible external injuries were found on the body," he stated. He also noted that no written complaint had been received from the family so far.
