A shocking incident of road rage unfolded in Hyderabad's Meerpet area on Tuesday evening, where a 45-year-old man was allegedly dragged on the bonnet of a car for approximately two kilometers. The victim, identified as Ravi Kumar, sustained multiple injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Incident Details

The altercation began when Ravi Kumar, a resident of Meerpet, confronted the driver of a white sedan after the vehicle nearly hit him while he was crossing the road. An argument ensued, and the driver, in a fit of rage, accelerated the car while Kumar was standing in front of it. Kumar was thrown onto the bonnet and clung to the windshield wipers as the driver sped away, dragging him for nearly two kilometers before he managed to jump off near a traffic signal.

Local residents alerted the police, who rushed to the spot and registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, including attempt to murder and rash driving. The victim was taken to a government hospital, where he is reported to be in stable condition. Police are reviewing CCTV footage from the area to identify and apprehend the accused driver.
