Noida Wedding Horror: Man Fires Pistol in Air at Sector 93 Marriage Hall
Man fires pistol at Noida wedding, police probe on

A shocking incident of celebratory gunfire disrupted a wedding ceremony in Noida, sending guests into a panic and prompting a police investigation. The event occurred at a marriage hall in Sector 93, where a man allegedly fired multiple rounds from a pistol into the air.

Video Evidence Triggers Police Action

A video of the alarming incident quickly surfaced on social media, catching the attention of the Noida Police. The footage clearly shows a man discharging a firearm while people around him react with fear and scramble for safety. Acting on this evidence, the police have launched a formal investigation to identify and apprehend the accused individual.

Senior police officer and SHO of Phase-2, Vindyachal Tiwari, confirmed that the incident took place on Sunday night. He stated that a dedicated police team has been formed to track down the shooter. "Celebratory firing is banned. A case will be registered. No injuries were reported as guests quickly intervened," Tiwari said, highlighting the preventive role of the attendees.

Marriage Hall Had Been Previously Warned

In a significant revelation, police officials disclosed that the management of the marriage hall had been warned beforehand. They had been explicitly told that legal action would be initiated if anyone carrying weapons was allowed entry into the venue. This incident underscores a clear violation of that directive.

The Noida police have a strict advisory in place regarding firearms at public gatherings. The advisory strictly prohibits carrying firearms at events like weddings. It mandates that any instance of brandishing weapons or celebratory firing will lead to action against both the owner of the firearm and the operator of the venue. Additionally, the advisory instructs venues to ensure fire safety systems are operational, alarms are active, and parking is managed to avoid congestion.

A Dangerous Trend in the Region

This latest episode follows a similar and more tragic event just days earlier. On November 20, a 10-year-old boy was injured by celebratory firing during a wedding procession in Jarcha, Greater Noida. That incident led to the arrest of three individuals, highlighting the very real dangers posed by such reckless actions.

The Noida Police are treating the Sector 93 case with seriousness, aiming to send a strong message against the illegal and perilous practice of celebratory firing. The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to identify the man seen in the viral video.
