Man Found Murdered Near Aami River in Gorakhpur

Gorakhpur: A 30-year-old man was discovered murdered with his hands and legs bound and his throat cut near the Aami River in Gorakhpur on Monday. The perpetrators placed the body in a sack and left it near the riverbank in an effort to hide his identity.

Body Found Near Temple

The body was recovered near the Semrahwa Baba temple in Bharsand village, which falls under the GIDA police station area, causing panic among local residents. Police teams, along with forensic experts, arrived at the scene and began an investigation to identify the victim and find those responsible.

Discovery by Villagers

According to police, villagers noticed a sack lying near the riverbank around 7 am and alerted authorities. When officers opened the sack, they discovered the body of a man. His hands and legs were tied with ropes, and deep wounds on his neck indicated that his throat had been slit with a sharp weapon.

The deceased was wearing a black t-shirt and jeans. Investigators believe the murder may have occurred elsewhere, and the body was later dumped near the river to destroy evidence and delay identification.

Forensic Evidence Collected

The forensic team collected samples and other evidence from the scene, while police began reviewing missing persons reports from nearby villages and police stations. The identity of the deceased has not yet been established.

SP North Gyanendra Kumar said further action would be taken after the postmortem and based on the findings of the investigation. He added that police are probing all possible angles in the case.
