Man Held for Abducting, Assaulting Minor Schoolgirl in Sonipat

Sonipat: Police have arrested a man for allegedly abducting and sexually assaulting a minor schoolgirl in the Kharkhoda area. The incident came to light after the girl went missing on April 22. She had left home for school but never returned. Her family later discovered that she had not attended classes and promptly alerted the authorities.

Upon receiving the complaint, police registered a case and launched a search operation. The survivor was traced and rescued safely. Her statement was recorded before a magistrate, and based on her account, additional charges under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act were added.

The accused has been identified as Naveen, a resident of Sainipura village. He has been arrested and sent to judicial custody. Further investigation into the matter is underway. Police are also examining the circumstances leading to the incident and are taking necessary steps to ensure justice for the victim.
